Draw an elaborate scene in pencil and then pick any random little portion and scribble it out with an eraser. Imagine having that confounding white void in your own life.

That is the strangeness of loss.

Their number is in your phone. Their email is in your contact list. But there isn't anyone on the other end. Just a technological grave marker and that strange white void.

And in the fall, you'll see a classmate and she'll ask, "How was your summer?"

You don't know them very well, so your whole life flashes before your eyes and all you can say is "Oh, just fine. Yours?"

But in your head you're saying,
"My Mother died on a Monday."

And then you'll just go to class...

How strange that the world should just keep spinning on.

I've been getting to know the "Collections" feature.

I can be an obsessive organizer when the mood strikes....
So eventually I'll have everything not only categorized, but possibly cross-referenced [if I can put one image into more than one category, that is...].

So far, I have:

Photography, which is fairly self-explanatory.
Pirates, also self explanatory.
Inspiring, where anything that inspires me, in any way, goes.
Fangirlism, where I put fan art related things that actually make go all "fan-girly" over.
I Heart Bakenius, which is a shrine to my very favorite colorist in all the inter-world.
Widdo Bruddas, showcasing my favorite pieces by artists with whom I share blood relations.
Mermadia and Fairytopia, which may or may not have been inspired by the types of movies that play in the background all-the-freaking-time when my boss's four year old daughter has a playdate with the neighbor girl >.<
and finally,
Kisses, because I probably have some sort of lip fetish.

More categories are likely to surface once a new wave of manic organizing hits.

In the meantime, go look at the stuff I like--or even recommend some new art you think I'd like!

It's spring term now and 2/3 of my classes will be so very not exciting.

I did awesome my last term. Awesome I say.
